Mission Statement of the Slovak Society for Computer Science

    The mission of the Slovak Society for Computer Science (Slovenská informatická spoločnosť) is to shape conditions for the advancement of informatics and information technologies in Slovakia. Its imperative is to support current information methods and technologies across all sectors of the Slovak economy and society. The Slovak Society for Computer Science represents the Slovak informatics community in international federations of informatics societies, including:
    • CEPIS (The Council of European Professional Informatics Societies)
    • IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing)
    The Slovak Society for Computer Science operates as an organization of professionals encompassing the full spectrum of informatics and information technology. This includes theoretical and applied informatics, computer engineering, software engineering, information systems, communication systems, security, artificial intelligence and education.

    Activities and Initiatives

    The Slovak Society for Computer Science organizes training sessions, discussions, excursions, conferences, symposia, and seminars. It engages in expert, publishing, and editorial activities within the field of informatics. Additionally, the Society actively presents its opinions and proposals to relevant state and public authorities, aiding in the coordination and resolution of critical issues concerning the development of informatics and information technologies and their application, digital skills and informatics education. The Society guarantees the ICDL certification process in Slovakia.
